Finding Zen (and Sex Machines) in Prague: A Travel Agent’s Love Letter to the City
Some people find peace in yoga. I find it in Prague. Truly my zen place.
There’s just something about walking through those cobbled streets, surrounded by a chaotic yet beautiful mix of Baroque, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture, that makes my soul feel strangely at home. I could honestly wander here forever, no destination needed.
And one of the biggest joys of being a travel agent is that sometimes, my work takes me to places that feed my spirit and my itinerary spreadsheets. Prague is one of those places. She’s romantic, quirky, deeply historic and just the right amount of unhinged.
Here’s a little taste of my latest visit — the food, the sights, and one museum that had me questioning everything.
🍳 Start With a Black Waffle & Chicken at SmetanaQ Café
Yes, black. As in goth waffle energy. Served with fried chicken and a view of the river, breakfast at @smetanaq_cafe is the kind of start that makes you want to book an extra night. Delicious, chill, and very aesthetically pleasing.
🚤 Float Through History
We hopped on a boat tour right by the Charles Bridge, a 40–50 minute trip full of little historical nuggets and dreamy views of the city from the water. If you ever need a reminder of why river cruises are a whole vibe, Prague will deliver.
🫣 The Sex Machines Museum… Yep.
So... this happened. Just €14.50 per person, and I haven’t laughed that hard in ages. It’s cheeky, bizarre, and absolutely worth a visit if you like your museums with a side of “what the hell is that?!”Let’s just say, it’s not one you’ll forget.
🦐 Seafood That Slaps at Il Gusto Prague
This place blew me away. @ilgustoprague served some of the best seafood I’ve had in a long time- fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavour. Pricey, yes. But worth it if you want a nice treat-yourself moment mid-trip.
🥟 No Photos, Just Food Comas at Sunday Terrace
We tried Georgian food at @sunday.terrace and it was so good, we didn’t even pause to take a single pic. That never happens. The khachapuri? Life-changing. The dumplings? Gone in seconds. Highly recommend going hungry and wearing stretchy trousers.
While Prague is easy enough to explore on foot, having a travel agent (hi, it's me 👋🏼) means your hotel is sorted, your transfers are smooth, no last-minute stress, no overpriced tourist traps, and way more time to explore weird museums. Whether it’s your first trip to Prague or your fifth, I’ve got you.
So, if you want to plan your Prague escape, let's talk! I'll help you discover your own version of zen, and maybe even a waffle or two
Yours,
Viktoria
